2. Data collected
This website does not itself collect personal data such as names or email addresses and offers no contact form or user account. Visitor analytics are collected only after your separate consent. When you visit the website, the hosting provider processes connection data that is technically necessary (such as IP address, date and time, page accessed and browser type) to deliver the website and keep it secure.
If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (such as your name, email address and message) solely to handle your enquiry.
3. Third-party services
Google Fonts for typefaces and Google Analytics for visitor statistics are each loaded only after your consent.
- Google Fonts (Google LLC or Google Ireland Limited): Loads the Playfair Display and Inter fonts from Google servers. Your IP address may be transmitted to and processed by Google.
Processing locations: USA and other Google locations. Google’s privacy policy - Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; Google LLC, USA): We measure page views, visits, referring pages, interactions, device and browser information, and approximate geographical location to improve the website. Google processes online identifiers and technical connection data. Analytics starts only after consent. This choice does not grant consent for personalised advertising.
Without your consent, no connection is made to Google; the website is displayed using system fonts instead.
4. Legal bases
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG) for loading Google Fonts and using Google Analytics. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the technically necessary delivery and protection of the website.
- Contract or pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) for handling email enquiries.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR), where statutory retention requirements apply to us.
On request, we will be happy to explain which legal basis applies in an individual case.
5. Cookies and local storage
We store your consent choice in your browser’s local storage (key “galatea-consent”). After you allow Google Analytics, cookies such as “_ga” and “_ga_1WX73630DH” are used to recognise browsers and sessions. Google Analytics cookie settings apply (by default up to two years, renewed on further visits); your browser may delete cookies sooner. Without analytics consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. If you withdraw consent, we stop analytics, remove accessible analytics cookies and reload the page. This does not automatically delete data already sent.
You can change your choice at any time: Open cookie settings. You can also clear local storage through your browser settings.
6. Retention periods
Your banner choice remains stored in your browser until you change it or clear local storage. Connection data held by the hosting provider and data held by Google are subject to their retention periods; please see the respective providers’ privacy notices for details.
We retain email enquiries for as long as necessary to handle them and meet statutory retention requirements. The data is then deleted.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights to the extent permitted by law:
- Withdrawal of previously given consent with effect for the future.
- Objection to processing based on a legitimate interest.

8. Processing locations and transfers to third countries
Processing takes place at our business premises and with the service providers named above. Google may process data in the USA. Such a transfer takes place only if you have allowed Google Fonts or Google Analytics.
Google identifies the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and supplementary standard contractual clauses as safeguards for transfers to Google LLC. Details: Google — Data transfer frameworks.
